Heartburn is the most common name of acid reflux disease symptoms. However, this is not the only symptom. Some people experience chest pain or abdominal pain. Others complain of cough or sour taste in the mouth and even some of them feel wheezing hoarseness, nausea or indigestion.

There are basically three kinds of medicines against heartburn such as antacids, H2 blockers whose production decreases gastric acid of the stomach. Reglan is in a different category altogether and works by improving the contractions of the esophagus so that the acid is moved back into the stomach.

For frequent or stronger heartburn, H2 blockers are an excellent and affordable choice. When they arrived on the market, they were wonder drugs – life-changing for ulcer sufferers. 

Many people who tend towards the most expensive PPIs that would do well with H-2 blockers cheaper. Again, ask your doctor before taking these on a regular basis. You do not want to hide stomach cancer.
